In 1987, due to a recession, Larry Schumacher found himself unemployed from his job working in the telephone industry as a business telephone system technician. Falling back on his five years of previous experience in the garage door opener repair industry in Orange County, CA during the late 1970s, he decided to start his own business in Temecula, CA. The area of Temecula was a small community that was rapidly growing and there was a need for his services.
The first several years were difficult acquiring new customers through newspaper want ads, fliers and limited yellow page ads, but business progressed slowly and steadily upward. As the area grew with more and more building so too did the need for new installations and repairs. Now, over 32 years later, Schumacher Garage Door has become the go-to and often referred garage door and opener repair business in the area.
Schumacher Garage Door has always been operated with repeat business being the main goal for its long term success. With over 82% of its business coming from repeat customers and 11% from referrals, Schumacher Garage Door enjoys and appreciates its customer’s confidence that they will continue to receive competitively affordable and professional services.
